Audrey – A Personal Project – Before & After

I’ve been working diligently on a new skill this past year. Hand Rendering. It’s been something I’ve been wanting to learn for years so I can create art for myself and most importantly create art for my clients. I have ideas in my head that I just want to get out onto a physical piece of art. Hand rendering captures the beauty of oil on canvas but in a digital format so it can be reproduced more then once.

The tools are basic; a computer, Photoshop and a Wacom Tablet. The skills are advanced. Each brush stroke is applied by hand, and brush settings are changed frequently. There are no quick, click of button filters used. This particular image was photographed within the last year, in our kitchen in Billings, Montana with North facing window light. It’s a personal favorite of mine that I knew had potential for that “something more.” The final outcome has been sitting in my head for months and I’m so excited to finally get it out onto a piece of physical art for Audrey.
